Based at Benfield Sports Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne and Seaton Valley High School, we provide high-quality, structured swimming lessons led by fully qualified, experienced instructors.

At Alpha Aquatics Academy, we offer a free trial lesson for all new swimmers so they can experience our teaching and feel confident before starting their Learn to Swim journey.

At Alpha Aquatics Academy, our teachers don’t just teach swimming — they understand swimming from the inside out. Our academy is led by directors with experience as a GB International and National-level swimmer, while members of our teaching team continue to compete at National level and achieve medal-winning results. Alongside this, our wider coaching team brings extensive competitive swimming experience.
Every swimmer’s journey starts with learning the fundamentals, developing confidence and technique, and for many, progressing into competitive swimming. Because our coaches have experienced that journey themselves, they understand not only how to teach a skill, but what it actually feels like to perform it in the water. That experience allows us to bring a greater understanding of technique, movement, timing, feel for the water, endurance and performance into every lesson, helping swimmers develop skills that are not simply taught, but genuinely understood.
